Manju Malhi to Spice Up Mela 2011!
Manju split her childhood between North West London and India, and in her cooking has explored the flavours of the two nations with everything from ‘Baked Beans Balti’ to ‘Chutney Cucumber Sandwiches’. In 1999, she won the BCC Food and Drink competition and a chance to cook with Antony Worrall Thompson on TV. In 2001, Manju filmed her own TV series, ‘Simply Indian’ and followed this with her first book ‘Brit Spice’ in 2002. In 2004, she published ‘India with Passion’ and more recently in 2010 ‘Easy Indian’. Her foray into the world of gogglebox has taken her to India for a forty part series entitled ‘Cooking Isn’t Rocket Science’ for one of India’s leading broadcasters NDTV. She was preparing British cuisine for India – a reverse of what is generally know for in the United Kingdom!
