Belfast Mela Launched

The countdown has officially begun, as the Belfast Mela 2011 was launched at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast. 

Last night (Wednesday 3rd August) The Merchant Hotel, Belfast, welcomed nearly a hundred guests from the world of business, industry, travel, TV and Politics to the launch of the fifth annual Belfast Mela which will take place on Sunday 28 August in Belfast's beautiful Botanic Gardens. Guests were treated to performances from the acclaimed South Asia Dance Academy and enjoyed a traditional indian reception.

Nisha Tandon, Director of ArtsEkta, stated 'I am extremely grateful to all who attended from the community, voluntary, arts and corporate sectors for lending their support to launch the Belfast Mela 2011. Plans are now well underway to ensure this year's festival is one to remember, as we continue to bring together 10s of 1000s of people from all sections of the community to celebrate both what unites us and what makes us different' 

The Belfast Mela will take place on Sunday 28th August from 12.00pm-8.30pm at Botanic Gardens in Belfast.
